Who We Are

Greater Manchester Unite Against Fascism is part of a national campaign that opposes the BNP.
Unite Against Fascism has been leading the struggle against the fascist British National Party and other racist groups, such as the English Defence League, which has been targeting the Muslim community in towns and cities all over Britain. We have organised demonstrations, rallies, conferences and pickets against the fascists, as well as working closely with our sister campaign Love Music Hate Racism to put on gigs and concerts against the Nazi BNP.
In the European elections in June 2009 the BNP leader Nick Griffin won the last North West seat with less than 10% of the vote. The election of two members of the fascist British National Party to the European parliament marks a turning point in British politics. This is the biggest electoral breakthrough for a fascist party in the UK.
Their election threatens to normalise the presence of the BNP in mainstream politics. Next year the BNP threatens to make gains in local council elections or even win a Westminster seat at the general election.
We aim to launch a huge election campaign to stop the fascists in their tracks, urging people to use their vote against the Nazi BNP.
