We have received these communications from Liverpool Antifascists. Note the change of date of this event from the 15th to the 17th March. Downloadable leaflets and posters with this new date are attached at the end of this article.
Dear Friends,
PROTEST AGAINST THE BNP
WEDNESDAY MARCH 15th
VICTORIA MONUMENT, DERBY SQUARE
LIVERPOOL
9.15am
As you may know, Liverpool BNP's Peter Tierney faces trial at the Crown Court, Derby Square on Wednesday 17th March (web manager's note - the trial date has been changed from the 15th to 17th March) . He's accused of assaulting an anti-fascist last year.
We have demonstrated against the BNP at every one of Tierney's appearances, and we are having a big effort to get people out on March 17th. The protest starts at 9.15am. We want banners, flags, musicians - you name it! We are urging anyone who can make it to be at this demonstration. Please spread the word, and let's show the BNP that their violence and racism has no place in our city.
Attached are leaflets and posters. Please distribute as widely as possible. We'll have printed versions next week, so if you can distribute some of them, let us know and we'll get them to you.
We are leafleting door-to-door in Liverpool 8 on Saturday March 6th and March 13th to build support for the protest. Let us know if you can help with this and we'll send you the details.
Thanks,
Liverpool Anti-Fascists
Friends and comrades,
The trial of the BNP's Peter Tierney for assaulting an anti-fascist has been moved to Wednesday March 17th. Our protest against the BNP will therefore take place on that day: 9.15am at the Victoria Monument, Derby Square, Liverpool 1.
We think the trial was moved because of our intention to protest - but we won't be shaken off!
New flyers and posters are attached. Please distribute widely. If you advertised the original date of this event, please remove old posts and let people know that it is now on the 17th. We want the maximum possible turnout to show that the BNP have no place in our city.
Thanks,
Liverpool Anti-Fascists
